December 2012 Shore News
It’s time for the annual Christmas Farmers Market! For the past few months our busy elves have been working behind the scenes, making this the best Christmas Market yet. Bring your whole family to this fun market, filled with sights and smells of the season. In our Regular Summer & Fall Market Seasons we normally have about 20 vendors but at our Christmas Market that number swells to 35 or even 40! Because it’s December, the natural market season transforms from mainly fresh vegetables and produce to more of an emphasis on local arts, crafts, gifts, and one of a kind treasures. Special seasonal vendors sell everything from Christmas cakes and treats to meat pies and savories.
You may have noticed a five foot Christmas tree at our regular market the last few weeks. We are selling raffle tickets to win a five foot artificial Christmas tree complete with local hand crafted ornaments. Its all for a good cause, in support of the Eastern Shore Food Bank. There are two ways you can help us out, one is to bring in and donate a hand made ornament to place on our tree. The second way to help is by buying a raffle ticket to win it. We will make the draw at our Sunday Market on December 9th.
Every time you choose to shop local, whether it’s at our market or somewhere else, you make a choice to help support a neighbor, a single mom, or maybe a new business starting up on the shore. The Musquodoboit Harbour Farmers Market helps new start-up artisan businesses interact with customers, helping them fine tune their products and offerings.
The Christmas Market on December 16th will be the last Sunday Market of our Regular Season. We hope you have a lovely Holiday and we look forward to seeing you again in January 2013. Mark your calendars for Sunday, January 6th as this is the start date of our WINTER MARKET located in the Lions Community Centre at 43 East Petpeswick Rd.
